Our Bike Program is one of the newest Deerfield Beach Community Cares initiatives. DFB middle & high students (either living in or attending a DFB school) are invited to participate in the 8 week program and, with active participation, receive a brand new bike!
Students will learn bike repair and maintenance and riding safety as they bike around the eastern part of Deerfield Beach. The Bike Program meets at the Aquatic Park adjacent to Deerfield Beach Middle School. Click here to view

Our core tenet is one of collective impact: Nothing about us without us. This is especially important in our work and engagement with youth in the Deerfield Beach community. They not only deserve to be heard, they need to be heard if our community is to thrive.
We are actively working to engage local children and adolescents in fun, experiential, socioemotional learning experiences that will help them to be more self-aware, resilient, and skilled individuals.

In May 2022, we co-sponsored "Ignite: A Mental Health Summit" for 100 youth in the City of Deerfield Beach at the Doubletree Hotel. We will host the 2nd Annual Ignite in 2023.
"[Ignite] allowed teens to connect, to know where to go when they need assistance and how to get involved in their community. We were happy to engage our youth in a community that encourages help-seeking and favors the concept that it's okay to not be okay."
Luz Deroseney, Manager
Parks & Recreation, City of Deerfield Beach
In Fall 2022, we connected with the DFB Packer-Rattler Youth Football program and became a fixture at Saturday games to connect with families in Deerfield Beach.
We are looking forward to next season!
The DBCC executive leadership team are proud to be members of the Kiwanis Club of Deerfield Beach, and to co-sponsor the Builders Club at Deerfield Beach Middle School!
Builders Club empowers middle school-aged youth as they navigate this in-between stage of life. Members develop self-awareness as they discover their passion to serve, their desire to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others. Service to school and community become a way of life!
We are excited to sponsor Art4Healing extracurricular programs at Deerfield Beach Middle School and Norcrest Elementary School.
The Art4Healing method supports emotional healing through art expression on canvas with paint. Our teacher, Gabriela Gamperl, is a resident of Deerfield Beach and a certified Art4Healing instructor.
To sponsor programming at other DFB schools, contact Joel Smith, DBCC President & CEO, at joel@dfbcommunitycares.org.
We are pleased to sponsor Yoga4Change, a trauma-informed yoga education program, for interested teachers and students at Deerfield Beach Middle School.
Trauma informed yoga best practices include choice and permission language, verbiage modifications, thematic teachings, and knowledge of adaptive yoga.
