A System of Care is a spectrum of effective, community-based services and supports for children and youth / families with or at risk for mental health or other challenges and their families, that is organized into a coordinated network, builds meaningful partnerships with families and youth, and addresses their cultural and linguistic needs, in order to help them to function better at home, in school, in the community, and throughout life.
Wraparound is an intensive, individualized care management process for youth/families with serious or complex needs. Wraparound shifts focus away from a traditional service-driven, problem-based approach to care, and, instead, follows a strength-based, need-driven approach. The intent is to build on individual and family strengths to help families achieve positive goals and improve well-being.
Trauma-Responsive Care is an approach that assumes that an individual is more likely than not to have a history of trauma. Trauma-Responsive Care recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role trauma may play in an individual's life.
